Privacy policy

PDFHeron is built so that your documents stay with you. This policy explains what little information we handle.

Your documents

PDFs and images you open in PDFHeron are processed entirely inside your web browser on your own device. They are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party. Closing the tab removes them from memory.

Information stored in your browser

We use your browser’s local storage for conveniences only: your theme, tool settings, saved signatures (if you choose to save them), and your Pro license key. This data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Purchases

When you buy Pro, our server records the order: the coin and network chosen, the amount, the receiving address, timestamps, the blockchain transaction ID that paid it, and the license key issued. We do not ask for your name or email. Blockchain transactions are public by nature; we look them up using public blockchain data providers (such as mempool.space, TronGrid and Etherscan) only to verify payments.

Server logs

Like any website, our server receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page. We use IP addresses briefly to prevent abuse (rate limiting) and do not use them to build profiles.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, for example which pages are visited, how people arrive (such as from a search engine), and the type of device, browser and approximate location (country or city) they use. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser for this purpose and processes this data on Google’s servers. We do not use it for advertising.

Google Analytics never receives your documents: PDFs you open are processed only on your device. You can block analytics with your browser’s privacy settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Third parties

We do not sell personal data. We use third-party blockchain and price data services server-side; your browser does not contact them. Your browser does connect to Google to load Google Analytics, as described above.

Children

PDFHeron is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
